Solar & protective window film
Keep the sun. Lose the heat.
Reflective film for west-facing rooms, home offices with screen glare, and shop windows where the merchandise keeps fading.
Pick by the problem
Heat and glare are different measurements, and the darkest film is not automatically best at both. If the room is too hot, choose by heat rejection. If you can't see your screen, choose by glare reduction. If the floors and furniture are fading, every film below blocks most UV.
| Film | Heat rejected | UV blocked | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adhesive solar, 5 shades | 44–85% | 99% | Hot west and south rooms |
| Static cling solar, 4 shades | 79–82% | 72–90% | Rentals and seasonal rooms |
| Photochromic | 16–30% | 97% | Glare: clear until the sun hits |
| One-way mirror | Reflective | Daytime privacy with a view out | |
Manufacturer-rated figures for stock builds. Glare reduction runs 13–36% on standard shades and 85% on photochromic.
Finishes

Before we install solar film
Dark, heat-absorbing film can crack annealed glass, very large panes, glass that is partly shaded, or panes with chipped edges. We ask for your glass type and size first and recommend a film that is safe for it. Solar film is made for flat home and building glass, not car windows. Reflective film cuts summer heat coming in, but it doesn't insulate against winter cold going out.
Safety and anti-graffiti film
Safety film is a clear 4 mil polyester layer bonded to the glass. When the pane breaks, the pieces stay stuck to the film instead of falling. A reeded version adds privacy in the same layer. It makes glass safer, not unbreakable. Anti-graffiti film is a clear sacrificial layer for storefront and transit glass; when it is scratched or tagged, you replace the film instead of the glass. Both are $16 per sq ft, installed only.
Questions about solar window film
How much heat does solar window film block?
Our adhesive solar films reject 44% to 85% of solar heat depending on the shade, and block 99% of UV.
Does mirror window film work at night?
No. It is reflective only while it is brighter outside. At night with interior lights on, people can see in.
Can solar film crack my window?
It can on the wrong glass. Dark films can stress annealed glass, large panes, partly shaded panes or chipped edges, so we check the glass type first.
Can I put solar film on my car?
No. Our solar film is made for flat home and building glass.
